OK...in just a few days it will be the one year anniversary of my sweetie, Ed's, passing...I don't know how I'm going to get thru this and I admit I've been obsessing about it (which, of course, does NOT help). So today I have decided to go with the AA mantra..."Let Go and Let God". It's all I've got...pray for me....please.

Summer has arrived in Cleveland with a vengeance! 94 degrees yesterday for Memorial Day made the streets shimmer with heat and the backyard pool a welcome respite. We ALL had to keep dunking to try to keep from overheating all afternoon....even the dogs. Mackie played all day with his buddies: Brock, Lily, Lola, Darla Mae, Cafe and Zeus.....he was glad to get home to his quiet house, tho.......

Where has the Spring gone?

Where has the Spring gone? Wow! Is it May 10th already? I have completely forgotten about my blog (well...not entirely but have neglected it just the same). I bought a bike (no...NOT a Harley...what IS it with you guys? That's what everybody asks me....do I LOOK like a biker-chick?). A nice new, comfy but sweet Jamis and have been racking up some miles. I reFUSE to gain back the weight that I have lost thru whatever reason....grief, stress, worry....whatever....it is not coming back! (Just sayin'). So...here I am....I need to pay more attention to you guys and less on my own pathetic life....more to come.

More snow? I know...I said it all day to all the annoying customers at work....."whaddaya mean...more snow? This is Cleveland in January!"....well.....it is MY blog and I'm gonna say it again....MORE SNOW?
OK....boring.....I will be back with something more interesting....I hope.......

Snow's Meltin'!

Snow's Meltin'! And  that's a GOOD thing as my pal Martha would say. Now we're slogging thru puddles and slush...HIGHLY preferable to a foot of snow. Even Mackie is ready for a little break in the temperature...I think his feet were hurting from the ice....poor baby!

Winter in Cleveland........AKA Snow in the 'Hood..............Yep.....more snow in the 'hood. My neighborhood looks MUCH cleaner and brighter covered in a blanket of white.....I WILL grant you that, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Letting my 75 pound dog drag me thru 6 inches of snow and ice that conveniently hide the 100 year old broken sandstone sidewalks is doing a number on my back, I can tell YOU!

OK.....January 2nd, 2012............movin' on and movin' up....sorta. Quitting the Kroft's Emporium and striking out on my own....possibly in a more artistic direction....how about a Cleveland-based online Arts/Crafts Village....hmmmmm? Sounds interesting? Well....it DOES to me!

Already? Still, I'm SO glad it's here. I am so OVER 2011 and ready to move on....I thought the end of the year would never come. Here's to a New Year and a Better Tomorrow (lifting up the glass of wine in a toast....................just sayin').

Cleaning the workroom....really? Already?

Cleaning the workroom....really? Already? I just moved here in September and I have to dig out my workroom? Yep...everything and anything has made it into this room and....since I'm feeling stirrings of the desire to start to create again....I better clean off some surfaces and ship a bunch of stuff that does NOT need to be in here....down to the basement.
Watch this space....I'm feeling stirrings!

Christmas Eve in Cleveland....lots of merriment goin' round. A couple of parties to go to tonight...some GREAT friends have extended a welcome to me to their homes tomorrow....all is good in the 'hood.

Had a Fantastic glasss of wine and pizza with lecia from http://www.leciaswearableartshop.biz/images/home_07.jpg and after a GREAT conversation about the Arts in Cleveland and her coming over to grab a few gifts for her staff from my stock of Wild Woman & Diva Crown Pins, we came up with an idea for a (possible) online artist colony.....any thoughts?

Weather in Cleveland

OK...HOT then cold then warm then FREEZING then (coming up) is warm and then cold, rain and then snow.....I can't get used to a winter that JUST IS NOT THERE.....just sayin'.

Christmas

OK.....just a few more days until Christmas is finally here and I must say I can't wait for it to come and go. Other than the parties which are a welcome change for me...this season is so depressing for me this year. I'm hoping next year will be better. I just can't shake this funk I'm in...not creating anything....doing a little ebay......not much of anything else. I'm hoping when the weather turns nasty I'll be ready to settle down and DO something creative and/or fun. Watch this space....I will post when that miracle occurs.........

She's done...it's over for now

OK.....Louie is done with her eggs....I disappeared them today and within about an hour she forgot all about them and is happily playing with her new basketball hoop. She's also jabbering and whistling again which is quite a relief. She is MUCH too quiet when she is laying.

OK, now we are at 3 eggs....hopefully she's done laying.....it reduces her calcium SO much that I have to give her calcium drops in her water. Also, she's dropped one out of the next when she was wiggling her butt down to snuggle them......she doesn't even miss it! Dorky bird.......

Louie....I think she's stopping at one

I don't know how much the average person knows about Lovebirds....or just birds in general....Louie normally lays a clutch...4-6 eggs which REALLY depletes her little body of calcium. So....I give her calcium drops in her water and she eventually recovers. This time it appears she has stopped with just one egg....better for her and (ultimately) better for me as she has the tendency to be Vewwwwwwy quiet wjile laying on her eggs. Normally she is very vocal, not so much a squawky bird but she chatters and whistles and talks to herself. Not so much when she is laying and setting. So....in about a week I will disappear her egg and she will get back to normal....such as that could possible be with Louie.

Louie is Laying Eggs....again!

She just won't listen to me....including the fact that she has no mate so the eggs just SEVERELY deplete her clacium levels.....so I have to give her drops...."It's all about YOU, Louie!" She now has ONE egg....usually followed by 3-5 more........
